ALTAI KRAI, SIBERIA, RUSSIA
Just look at this amazing beauty! Lake Burlinskoe, Altai, southern Siberia, Russia
It's called the "Rose" Lake, or the "Raspberry" Lake,
to match the pretty color of microscopic algae and min-crab Artemia (turning the most scarlet in August).
It is also historically referred to as the "Royal Salt Shaker."
|
Since the Russian Empire in 1762, 65 thousand tons of all-natural table salt have been mined here every year. The salt train travels along underwater rails at a depth of 1.5 m! The salt content, 200g per liter, keeps you from drowning, like the Dead Sea, but much prettier.
And the mini-crab Artemia, residing here, creates a healing mud. Generally, Altai is a magical Krai (Rus: area, region), where many amazing and incredible miracles of nature can be found. Thank goodness it's unknown to the greedy West, because they'd spoil it in a moment, building up all kinds of loud and tasteless resorts, raking in money hand over fist, which would quickly destroy this delicate otherworldly beauty! ~ LADA RAY |
THAILAND
from Emil's new farm, where he and his wife grow papaya and guava
|
My long-term Patreon supporter Emil sent me this: "It's actually quite difficult to capture the true beauty of the place on camera! We grow papaya and guava. We will start harvesting papaya on a commercial scale in a couple of weeks, and guava in a couple of months! Papaya is a high investment, high risk, and high profit crop! Most Thai farmers are conservative and stick to "safer" crops. Thus we have found a niche with potential! Guava is easier, but not as profitable as papaya. After we get return on our papaya, we will build a house and build a beautiful farm! Building a simple house will cost us around 200,000THB, or around 6,000USD! It's partly thanks to your Consultation that I dared take the big step and move from Sweden to Thailand! And here is my blog https://emillampang.wordpress.com/ With best regards, Emil" |
